This art quilt "Red Rubber Ball" features a traditional quilt block (Snow Ball) but done in a non-traditional way. Featuring hand-dyed fabric from Cherrywood Fabrics, the shapes are made with smaller pieces of fabric that have been fused to similar background fabrics. All of the pieces are quilted down with black thread in quilting lines that are 1/4" apart. A piece of black yarn has been couched down symbolizing a bouncing ball.
It is machine quilted with a knife-edge binding. It comes with a hanging sleeve and rod, ready to hang on a nail.
This quilt was made for the Project Quilting: Focus Through the Prism challenge, to read more about this quilt, visit my blog.
This quilt was exhibited with all of the other Focus Through the Prism quilts at the Wisconsin Quilt Expo in Madison, WI in Sept. 2016.
