This art quilt features "Louie" a resident barn owl at the Glen Helen Raptor Center. He is fused to a pieced background of brown and blue-gray fabrics. Brown yarn with a gold twist is couched both in the background and along the branch edge. Louie's face has been thread painted to indicate feathers and an off-white hand-spun yarn has been couched around his face and also just inside the binding.
It is machine appliqued, couched, and quilted and comes with a hanging sleeve and rod, ready to hang on a nail.
